    Over the years many fine Carvers have made their version of what has been called the Crushed Tomato Pipe

Maigurs spent many hours thinking about his own special interpertation

Then several sketches were made, this was one of those of the final version he chose
From the sketch, Maigurs made a Cutout and then a Mold to give him a better idea and then a three dimension view

"First study was made out of foam from that template. This is the first 3D (three-dimensional) look of what I think it would be. This model was changed and moved around, some material was added and new shape was founded"
   
Maigurs then worked with several blocks of Briar

The Best Pipes in the World must have the highest quality Briar

That also is a perfect match for the design the pipe is to be
 
Many hours are spent Carving to Perfection

 

Sanding the briar to create the exact shape and a smoothness in the wood also requires many hours on such a One Of A Kind  Pipe
 
 

On this Pipe, Maigurs uses Rare African Afzelia burl and African Blackwood to add beauty to the shank

 

 
 
 
 
 

The Stem of a World Class Pipe also requires hours of labor, Talent and the Creative ability to give it beauty and add to the theme of the pipes overall look and balance

Here the pipe is almost ready but will receive yet more very fine sanding and another coat of stain
